Trauma Cover for the over 65s

Customers can now take out Trauma cover up to the age of 70 that will pay them a lump sum when any one of over 40 illnesses is first diagnosed by their own doctor. This cover will remain in force until the age of 75 in comparison to the majority of Insurers who limit cover to 65.

Whilst Trauma cover is being offered to the age of 75, Income Protection is still limited to 65. Many advisors are managing this situation by providing two years of the client’s income as Trauma cover. This cover would provide funds for the client to pay any medical expenses and also provide an on-going income in the event of a claimable illness.

As well as the standard 40 illnesses covered under the Trauma cover an additional benefit specifically, targeted at females, can also be included in the policy. This additional benefit covers Carcinoma in Situ (Breast Lumps) and Osteoporotic Fractures for up to $50,000.
